Advancing a Better Bednet

The OKnet Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing OKnet, a redesigned mosquito bednet.

Our work includes factory qualification, field testing, WHO collaboration, and fundraising — each is essential to bringing OKnets to families who need them most.

Why We Chose “OKnet”

The OKnet name reflects the product itself: simple, easy to use, familiar, fun:

  • Internationally familiar “OK” -- no word is more widely spoken or understood worldwide
  • Easy to pronounce “OK” -- simple sounds common across dialects
  • Positive meaning “OK” -- means cooperation: ‘yes’, 'good’, ‘agree’, ‘understood’, ‘all right’
  • Cross-cultural -- Malaria affects many countries. "OK" is understood across borders, culture, languages
  • Simple and memorable -- "OK" is short, easy to recognize and remember
  • Represents progress -- “OK” projects optimism, solutions, and promise

The OKnet name is more than branding.

It distinguishes OKnet from traditional hanging nets and represents our commitment to build better bednets for better protection.
